Mecsia is a leading UK provider of technical inspection, maintenance, and engineering services, aiming to transform the industry with a 'Local Service, National Reach' approach. The company has grown significantly through organic expansion and strategic acquisitions, including seven business units serving large clients in different sectors including Commercial offices, healthcare and educational facilities. Under private equity ownership since 2020, Mecsia has expanded to approximately 1,600 employees, including 900 engineers. In 2024, Mecsia was acquired by Synova, recognised as PE house of the year for four of the last seven years, who supports an ambitious growth strategy through service excellence and further acquisitions.
The Project Manager is a role within Mecsia’s IT function, reporting directly to the Group CIO. This role provides the project management structure and delivery momentum needed to accelerate Mecsia’s data warehouse project.
The data warehouse initiative started in 2025 and, working with a 3rd party, we have established a cloud-based data lake infrastructure in Azure using Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, Azure Data Factory, and Power Automate. The focus now is getting the content in.
This is not a technical development role. It requires a structured and disciplined Project Manager with experience in Data Warehouse projects in complex system environments.
Data warehouse project delivery
Act as the primary resource supporting the delivery and momentum of Mecsia’s data warehouse project
Work with the external delivery partner to ensure that the technical deliverables are clearly understood and prioritised
Track project progress, dependencies, and blockers, escalating to the CIO as required, and update Project Steering Committee on a regular basis
KPI requirements and Data Source Discovery
Engage with Mecsia’s senior leaders (finance, operations, commercial, HR) to capture and validate KPI and reporting requirements
Work with each operating company to identify what data exists, where it is held, and how accessible it is
Identify gaps where required data does not exist or cannot be extracted in a usable form, and work with stakeholders to define remediation options
Establish and maintain a data source inventory that informs the onboarding pipeline for the external delivery partner
Data quality and governance
Work with business owners to establish data definitions, taxonomies, and ownership for key datasets and a ongoing data accuracy culture
Support the development of data governance standards that are practical and appropriate for a multi-entity group
Analytics and insight delivery
Lead and drive external delivery partner(s) and internal stakeholders to define and prioritise dashboard and reporting outputs in Power BI or equivalent tooling
Stakeholder engagement and communication
Act as a trusted point of contact for operating company leaders on data and analytics matters
Communicate progress, priorities, and issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Produce clear programme updates, reporting packs, and executive summaries for the CIO and senior leadership team
