Mecsia is seeking an ambitious entry‑level M&A Analyst to support its acquisitive growth strategy by leading target sourcing. This is an excellent opportunity for an early‑career professional, ideally from an M&A, expert network or recruitment background to transition into mergers & acquisitions and corporate development.
The role sits within the M&A team and will support all stages of the acquisition lifecycle (origination, evaluation and execution) though is primarily focused on target sourcing, screening and outreach.
This role is well suited to someone who is tenacious, meticulously organised, innovative in applying technology, highly emotionally aware and is comfortable engaging with founders.
Key Responsibilities
Deal Origination & Market Intelligence
Identify and screen targets across the UK Hard FM landscape and establish contact
Engage with founders, shareholders, advisers, and brokers to build relationships, tell the Mecsia story and accelerate deal flow
Maintain and enhance a vast target pipeline aided by a customised M&A CRM platform
Own the drum-beat of relationship upkeep
Execution Support
Assist with the transaction process alongside internal teams, external advisers, and investors including through:
Helping to manage timelines, action lists and risk mitigation plans during live deals
Supporting due diligence workstreams
Preparing briefing packs and investment committee materials for internal and external stakeholders.
Wider M&A function
Support production of board materials
Track market activity, competitors, and valuation trends.
Essential
Early‑career professional (1–3 years’ experience)
Background in recruitment, expert networks, or professional services with a strong academic grounding
Strong research, data‑gathering, and information‑synthesis skills with meticulous attention to detail, and strong organisational capability to manage large datasets without losing detail
A genuine interest in deal origination
Confident communicator, able to engage professionally with senior stakeholders and founders to win hearts and minds
Persistent, tenacious and resilient, not afraid to pick up the phone
Strong relationship‑builder with high emotional intelligence to build initial rapport with founders and act as a respectful ambassador for the Mecsia brand
Strong desire to learn and take increasing responsibility over time
